 Hublot PalmaVela, 15 – 18 April 2010, kicks off tomorrow with four elegant Swan Maxi yachts entered into the regatta. The Real Club Nautico de Palma has welcomed participating yachts into the bay of Palma for this spectacular event. The Swan Maxi yachts competing Hublot PalmaVela are: Swan 66S, Godot, owned by Paul Fevang; Swan 601, @robas, owned by Gerard Logel; Swan 82, Nikita, owned by Nicolai Tangen and Swan 68, Risktaker, owned by Peter Jebsen. Gerard Logel onboard @robas won last year’s Swan Maxi Class Circuit and will again be competing on this year’s circuit. The French crew onboard the 601, led by owner/driver Gerard Logel, have been key participants in the Swan Maxi Circuit since the introduction of the Class in 2008. The Hublot PalmaVela marks the start of the Mediterranean season this year, and with excellent winds and weather predicted for the event will provide the perfect start to the Swan Maxi Class 2010 circuit. All Swan Maxi Yachts participating on the 2010 circuit will be eligible for the Swan Maxi Class silver Asprey trophy. The Rolex Swan Cup, 13 – 19 September will be held in Porto Cervo with the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. This event is the finale of the Swan Maxi Class Circuit and will provide the perfect back drop for these beautiful Swan Maxi yachts. The winner of the Swan Maxi Class Circuit will be presented with the Swan Maxi Class Asprey trophy at the prize giving for the Rolex Swan Cup.
