The 58th edition of the Giraglia Rolex Cup, 12 – 19 June 2010 will see Swan yachts racing in both inshore and offshore races. The Giraglia Rolex Cup is the second event on the Swan Maxi Class Circuit and is well known for its excellent racing and glamour.
Swan 601, @Robas, owned by Gerard Logel most recently won the Swan Maxi Class at Hublot PalmaVela and will be one to watch at Giraglia as he is racing with a well oiled team and will be looking for a podium finish once again.
The 245 nautical mile distance race will see yachts racing from Saint-Tropez across the Lingurian Sea to the Giraglia rock and back to San Remo. The region can often produce variable conditions with crews having to adapt quickly to either.
The Swan’s entered into the event range from ClubSwan 42, Kora 4 up to Swan 112, Highland Breeze which is the largest yacht racing in the competition. Two Swan 56’s will be competing, Atalante 2 and La Foresta del Mar, owned by Amanda Harltey who won the Swan Northern European Challenge in 2009. Other Swan’s racing at the regatta includes four Swan 45’s, a Swan 65 Ketch, a Swan 46, a Swan 80 as well as the stunning Swan 90, Solleone.
The international fleet will begin with inshore racing on Sunday 13 June with the offshore race on Wednesday 16 June.
