Favonius and @Robas maintain their leads in the Maxi Classes on day two of PalmaVela

Following great success on the first day of racing in Palma, Swan 80 Favonius, owned and helmed by Roel Pieper, has extended her lead in the Maxi Racer/Cruiser Class with a further two race wins. On another day with fantastic weather conditions, both the Maxi and Mini-Maxi fleets completed a further two windward-leeward courses. Also proving to be highly competitive in the Maxi Racer/Cruiser Class is Swan 82 Grey Goose who has retained 2nd position behind Favonius, beating the Wally, Open Season into 3rd place overall. With less than two minutes between them on the water, and coastal races scheduled for a weekend of changeable conditions, Grey Goose and Favonius will continue their contest to lead the Swan Maxi Class Circuit after the first regatta of 2009. Notable performances also came from Swan 80 Astro who registered significant improvement on yesterday’s performance and appears to be working their way up the leader board in the slightly lighter winds.

The French crewed Swan 601 @Robas is also enjoying continued celebrations after registering another race win on day two, extending their lead over the Mini-Maxi Class.

The overall Swan Maxi Class scoreboard, based on corrected speed results for both fleets, after four races, is as follows:

1st - Swan 80, Favonius: 1,1,1,1 (4 points)
2nd - Swan 82, Grey Goose: 3,2,2,2 (9 points)
